Chatsworth Farm and our family are very excited to be participating in our fourth Alberta Open Farm Days, on Saturday, August 19th. Open Farm Days is a province-wide open house for Alberta farms, who invite their urban and rural neighbours to stop in for a visit. Join us for the day to meet the people behind the farm, see where your food comes from and learn more about farming, enjoy a day out, and reconnect with nature.

- 11 am – 11:30 am Machinery Demo
- 11:30 – 12 noon Guided Farm Tour
- 12:30 – 1 pm Musical Performance by Mallory Chipman
- 1 pm – 1:30 pm Machinery Demo
- 1:30 – 2 pm Guided Farm Tour
- 2 pm – 2:30 pm Musical Performance by Mallory Chipman
- 2:30 – 3 pm Machinery Demo
- 3 pm – 3:30 pm Guided Farm Tour
- 3:30 – 4 pm Musical Performance by Mallory Chipman

Q: WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Dress for the farm, with closed-toed shoes, layers, and a hat (good for sun AND rain!), and water bottles. Also: sunscreen, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, and a lunch or snack including beverage and picnic blanket, which you can enjoy while picnicking in our pasture
Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Admission to Open Farm Days is free. We will have a a Farmers Market featuring amazing vendors as well as a BBQ lunch so if you’re interested, bring cash (some vendors will accept cards) and a cooler for any purchases.
Q: CAN I BRING MY PET? S/HE’S VERY WELL BEHAVED!
No. For our animals' health and safety, and the health and safety of all participants, please leave your pets at home.
Q: WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Our farm is northwest of the town of Vermilion. Click here to find the Google maps location and follow the Open Farm Days signs.
Q: WILL THERE BE TOILETS AND HAND-WASH STATIONS AVAILABLE ON SITE?
Yes, there will be portable washrooms and sanitation stations on site. Handicapped access units will be available as well.
Q: CAN I SMOKE, OR CONSUME ALCOHOL OR CANNABIS, WHILE ATTENDING OPEN FARM DAYS?
No. Smoking is not permitted on the farm and there are no designated smoking areas on the property; the risk of fire with straw and hay bales, machinery, and fuel on the premises is great. The consumption of alcohol is allowed only from vendors and cannabis is not permitted.
Q: ARE THERE DRINKING WATER REFILL STATIONS ON SITE?
Yes, bring your water bottles and get the full farm experience and fill your bottles at our hydrant with fresh cool well water!
Q: WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR/VAN/TRUCK?
We'll have designated parking areas so please follow the signs and parking directors upon arrival.
