2024 | Alberta Open Farm Days at Chatsworth Farm
Chatsworth Farm and our family are very excited to be participating in our fifth annual Alberta Open Farm Days, on Saturday, August 17th. Open Farm Days is a province-wide open house for Alberta farms, who invite their urban and rural neighbours to stop in for a visit. Join us for the day to meet the people behind the farm, see where your food comes from and learn more about farming, enjoy a day out, and reconnect with nature.
Walk-ins are welcome, please check in at our Welcome Tent upon your arrival!

Q: WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Dress for the farm, with closed-toed shoes, layers, and a hat (good for sun AND rain!), and water bottles. Also sunscreen, insect repellent, and hand sanitizer.
Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Admission to Open Farm Days is free! We'll also have a Farmers Market featuring amazing local artisan vendors, as well as a BBQ lunch, so if you’re interested, bring cash (some vendors accept credit cards) and a cooler for any purchases.
Q: Can I bring my dog? S/HE’S VERY WELL BEHAVED!
We operate a strict no dogs policy at Chatsworth Farm. Dogs are not permitted to remain in cars in the car parks due to the risk of heat exhaustion.
Q: HOW DO I GET TO THE FARM?
Our farm is northwest of the town of Vermilion. Click here to find the Google Maps location, and follow the Open Farm Days signs.
Q: What facilities WILL BE AVAILABLE?
We aim to make a visit to the event as accessible, comfortable and enjoyable for all visitors.

Q: CAN I SMOKE, OR CONSUME ALCOHOL OR CANNABIS, WHILE ATTENDING OPEN FARM DAYS?
No. Smoking is not permitted on the farm and there are no designated smoking areas on the property. The consumption of alcohol is NOT allowed and cannabis is not permitted.
Q: ARE THERE DRINKING WATER REFILL STATIONS ON SITE?
Yes, bring your water bottles and get the full farm experience by filling your bottles at our hydrant with fresh cool well water!
Q: WHERE DO I PARK?
We'll have designated parking areas so please follow the signs and parking directors upon arrival. There is also accessible parking.
Q: CAN I BUY FOOD AND DRINK AT THE EVENT?
Yes!
We offer a cash BBQ lunch featuring our farm's beef hot dogs with red fife flour buns and homemade toppings.
